Summer Learning Journey

At home I have been working on the summer learning Journey. My first activity was to read the story about Maui and the giant fish and then write down 3 things we have learnt about Maui in that story. For activity 2  we had to Imagine that we were on a waka to New Zealand so we had to write a letter to a friend and tell them about the new country. For our bonus activity we had to watch this video about Waka Ama  and write if we would want to join one day.

Activity 1

I learnt that Maui was't selfish like his other brothers. I also learnt that Maui does not give up when some one says to him you can't do it. Maui was the only person out of his brothers that said the Karakia.  

Activity 2 
 Hi 
I am very nervous moving to a new country and leaving my home. But here in this country it has lot's of nature and lot's of wildlife it is so amazing. All the birds chirping happily and there are lot's of weird animals.   

Bonus Activity
I would love to have a go one day to see what it is like. I am sure it would be fun to try new things.    

  


    

It was the night before Christmas

In writing we had a sheet and we roll a dice and the dice chooses the character, setting, time and problem. Here is my story underneath.

“Where is my christmas suit where is it” said santa claus madly. Santa was looking for his christmas suit but then … his magical reindeer made some christmas music and suddenly disappeared.

Santa ran down stairs and opened his door and saw the snow was orange santa wondered how the snow turned orange and he said to himself “what turned the snow orange”. Santa walked through the orange snow and saw teeny tiny elf footprints and he had only one elf so he knew who did it. It was Elfy the naughty elf. So santa claus followed the footprints and it lead to his amazing workshop.

When santa tried to open the door the door would not budge open because the ice had frozen the door. So he had to climb a big ladder to get to the window at the tip top. When santa claus got to the top he jumped through the window and hid he saw that Elfy had been making potions. So santa catched Elfy and said “where did you send my reindeer” Santa said furiously. The scared  Elfy did not know what to say so she said “I sent them to egypt and good luck finding them because the good witch can’t bring them back haha” so santa stole one of the potion’s and tipped some on the door and the door burst open and santa asked the witch if she could help him get his reindeer back but she said “ I can only give you stuff to help you but I can not go with you. Then the witch gave him a drink bottle and said “This bottle will never run out of water and I will give you the power to run very fast too so you can get to Egypt very quickly” . Then Santa said “thank you very much” and quickly ran off to Egypt.

In about an hour Santa got to Egypt safely and he never got thirsty because he had the infinity bottle of water. Then he saw his Reindeer tied up in lots of lots of ropes and suddenly Santa he remembered that he had a pocket knife in his pocket .So he cut all the ropes except one and he held on that rope and he quickly ran and brought them back to Santa's village. Then Santa asked the good witch if she can banish Elfy the elf.But the Good Witch said “I can't banish anyone”.So Santa Claus took Elfy the elf and tipped on him some potion which made him go all the way to Egypt and Elfy the elf was never heard from again. After that incredible adventure the good witch made Santa a new suit and Santa  delivered all the presents and everyone lived happily ever after.  

     

Christmas around the world

We are learning about Christmas traditions around the world. 

I have learned that in France the kids put shoes in front of the fire place and in the morning they find present's and gifts  and toy's.

That in Norway the kids put ginger bread house biscuit's as a snack for Santa.

If you know anything about the food or any traditions please give me some feedback. 

Google sheet's

We have been learning how to use Google sheet's. Mr Maddern told us to open a Google sheet and started to tell us tricks and tips. Lot's of kids got them right but I could not do it. So the next thing we did was create a Mincraft skin. This is mine down below. Please comment and give me some feedback. This is Maggie from the Simpsons.

Walt: We had to write a story about and goblin or monster with a unexpected twist and draw or make a picture of what will happen next.

One scary Halloween night a big massive Zombie came out of the ground and came in the kitten’s house. The ugly zombie crept into the cute little kitten’s room. He completely hated it! The room was all colorful and the zombie hated color ,but he knew that he had to complete his mission.

The kitten had a hidden power that no one ever knew about. If anyone found out that the kitten had a power and then said this poem...

“Ninja kitten, come along with me, give me your power and hate me.” Then all the kittens power would escape from her like the fastest robber in the world and go into that person who said the poem.

As soon as the ugly Zombie was going to pick her up she stood up from her fake sleep and said “You ugly Zombie! Stay away, or I will turn you to shreds today. I am the ninja kitten”.

The Zombie got a fright so he said “ I am on a mission from down below tell me your poem and I will go”. The kitten grew mader and mader every second so she said “ ok I will tell you my poem if you complete my riddle. “What is very important and easy to lose”? The monster’s mind ran away he could not think of anything to answer the riddle. So the monster said “ a sock “ so the kitten started laughing “he he he” and said “I will not tell you the poem” but when the kitten said I will not tell you the poem the Zombie fell to death. At the end the kitten said out loud “the answer was a friend ,the answer was a friend!”

     

What Success Means To Me.

The last 2 days we have been working on what success means to us. I have made a google drawing of what success means to me.
