WALT We are learning to write an information report with the correct structure and language features

We are starting to learn about weather and what we can experience about the weather.

Weather

Man! Is this annoying rain and hail ever going to stop ,It keeps banging on my roof.

Weather is the current atmosphere that we experience. Weather can change minute by minute.

Right now the beautiful sun out in the sky.The sky is light blue and clear the wind is really calm and warm .

In New Zealand we don’t get much snow But we get lots of hail but in the winter we get some sleet and a tiny weeny bit of snow.

In the spring we lots and lots of rain.Rain happens when the water gets too much in the clouds it forms in big drops of water that is called rain.

A flood is caused by lots and lots and heaps of rain people will need to get out of their houses because nobody wants to get hurt. When they go back in after it's going to leave dirt, mud and yucky stuff   

I hate seeing storms it just makes me feel more scared when I am sleeping.

Rainy Day Art

Walt Use crayon and dye to show movement and ripples in a weather feature 

We got a white crayon and drew the puddles and the rain drops.

 Then we drew the rainbow if we wanted.

Finally we used different black and blue shades of dye and 

made the art look like the sky.

Spencer Park

WALT write a recount from our syndicate trip.

On Friday 10 march we went to Spencer Park . Our whole learning community went to take part in a fun trip.

When We first got there had morning tea. I sat with Aiden and Mrs Jack. I had a choco cup with some cheese.We stayed a little bit for morning tea but I could see the playground and couldn't wait to get there.

When I got to the playground I looked around for the best thing that I’d like to play on. While I was looking around, Hornby school arrived. I started to look for my cousin David but sadly I didn't find him. Then I found my old friend Ryleigh. It was good to see her again.

Then we walked Through the forest and then we saw the the beach we had competitions out of using Anything we can find on  beach My team had about 8 people We planted 3 Christmas trees and one big log.

Then we had a lunch I had cake a Lollipop and chocolate  pineapple Lumps.I sat with my mum Kristie's mum and  Kristie.Then I went to play and the after the next group of hornby school came I said to myself this is the last chance to find David.I kept searching for him I asked every hornby kid was there then I found his best friend Hunter.Hunter is his most trusted friend.

So I asked him is my cousin David on this trip ,as soon as I said that I saw David I was so happy that I went and told my mum she was walking so I pulled her so she ran even faster she could not believe her eyes.I told Mr breach my teacher to.

I loved the day I wish we could go there again because we got to make things in the sand .

Symmetry Art

In maths with my home teacher, Room 8 is learning to find lines of symmetry.

Mine and Kristie's shape has 1 line of Symmetry.

                 A line of Symmetry is when you fold a shape and it                       perfectly fits like a butterfly's wings.             

Antarctica slide

A few weeks ago we went to the Antarctic centre down there we learnt all about Antarctica and some of the things we learnt are that Antarctica is the coldest place on earth, it's whiteness it reflects the sunlight. After the trip we had to make a slide of what we learnt from our trip.This is my slide that I have made.

Growth mindset and fixed mindset

During Power Time  we have been learning about Growth mindset and Fixed mindset. We watched a short video about Luke Sky Walker and Yoda lifting an X-wing out of the lake. Luke had a Fixed mindset. A Fixed mindset is when somebody says no way this is impossible or I give up. Yoda taught Luke how to have a growth mindset. A growth mindset is when somebody says I am going to do this no matter what or it looks hard but I will try. We thought of what we could say if we have a fixed mindset but want to change to a growth mindset.    

My penguin

Walt to make our paint look like feathers on our penguin and to learn how to sketch a penguin.

3 We painted the orange and yellow parts and we waited until the   paint dried up

description of Antarctica

In reading we are learning about Antarctica. Right underneath is my description about Antarctica.

Oh my how cold is this Continent!

Antarctica is the whitest place on Earth. Antarctica never melts because It is so white and it reflects the sunlight . Antarctica is also a desert because it never rains there and ,all deserts never get rain

Antarctica always gets 24 hours of sunlight during the summer and in some other months it always has 24 hours of Darkness, in those months the sun doesn't  go up.

In Antarctica the snow and ice is so deep you can't get to the bottom but underneath There is land . Antarctica is the windiest place in the entire world.

There is lots of Wildlife in Antarctica. There are some types of seal, lot’s of kinds of penguins, lots of killer whales who like to eat penguins  ,the massive blue whales, Albatrosses and some varieties of fish.

Antarctica is the best place ever, I'm sure everyone would love to go there as much as me.
